New Town Hall Building

Update on the New Town Hall from the Town Chair:

The Town hall continues to come in under budget.  We have signed contracts with our general contractor, Berghammer and our subcontractors for Technology, Audio-Video, furnishings, flooring and septic.  We have a few items that we have not committed to or signed contracts with such as the racking for the storeroom, the bike rack, window coverings, etc., for an estimated cost of about $10,000 which we have in the budget.  Even with these expenditures we are under budget.

We have some things that have to be taken care of such as the front sidewalk.  It will be replaced by the contractor as it was not installed correctly.   That will be done in April.  We approved the installation of the piping in the attic of the Town hall for the sprinkler system that was missed on the plans but our motion states that we will not be paying for it.

As with any project of this size there are a lot of moving parts and issues that come up.  We have our building inspector and our engineering firm overseeing the construction of this building and we continue to have weekly construction meetings.  All requests for payment and all change orders are decided by the Board.

Just because you read something on social media does not mean it is real.  We have heard that a lot of times, but I continue to say it again and again.   If you have any questions, feel free to contact myself or any board member.

Our anticipated move in will be June, 2025 conditional on weather, etc.
