What do poll workers do?

1.  Poll workers do everything from check-in voters, help people register to vote, check photo IDs and process absentee ballots. Your local clerk will provide you with training prior to election day for the job you will be doing.
2.  Poll workers are appointed to two-year terms so you will be asked to make a minimum two-year commitment.   However, committing to one election cycle (Primary/General) is also appreciated.
3.  Polls are open 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Poll workers generally work a full day, from 6:30 a.m. until approximately 9:00 p.m. or later in the case of the November elections.
4.  Municipal Poll workers may also need to work  in split shifts.
