The clerk of the Town of St. Joseph, St. Croix County, Wisconsin, by this notice states that the clerk of the Town of St. Joseph has been designated under s. 19.33, WIs. Stats., as the legal custodian of  records for the Town of St. Joseph, except that elected officials are the custodians of their own records of the office and chairpersons of committees of elected officials are custodians of the records of the committee.

The public may obtain information and access to records in the custody of the clerk or other appropriate legal custodian, make requests for records, or obtain copies of records, and learn the costs of obtaining copies of records from the town clerk or other appropriate legal custodian as follows:

The public may obtain information and access to records in the custody of elected officials and chairpersons of committees of elected officials as the custodians of their own records of office, make requests for records, or obtain copies of records, and learn the costs of obtaining copies of records from the elected official and chairperson in accordance with the contact information designated as follows:

                The following are the fees for satisfying records requests under s. 19.35, Wis. Stats.,:

                       The Town may require prepayment for any requests expected to exceed $5.00.

                Records that are not readily accessible and require research to locate the requested item can be assessed a location fee.  Following Wisconsin Statute 19.35(3)©)), a fee can be imposed on a requester for locating the record as long as the direct location cost is for $50 or more. Once the location fee reaches $50, the requestor will be charged $15.00 per hour, or any portion of an hour, will be charged for locating the item requested. All requests will be processed as soon as practicable and without delay.

                The Town shall collect from the requester costs for standard size copies at $0.25 cents per page.  Any request for copies other than size 8 ½ x 11 and 8 ½ x 14 will result in a fee of their actual cost. The cost of a computer disc, CD or DVD is $25.00 per disc. Those costs do not exceed the actual, necessary and direct costs of reproduction. Actual costs will be charged for other media.

                Files that are downloaded from the Statewide Voter Registration System are an automatic $25.00 fee plus an additional fee of $5.00 per 1,000 names on the report. These fees are set by the State. The actual cost of postage, courier or delivery services will also apply, if applicable.
